Chianti

The Chianti Tour took us to this little winery in the heart of the chianti region. The rolling Tuscan hills filled with olive trees and black grapes set the scene for a perfect lunch. Desma was in her element.. In the place she had talked about for so long... Nelle on the other hand was super keen on learning about the wines of the region...while I was happy just to pose.

Lunch was a mix of local produce.. Wine tasting, vinegar, olive oil, cured meats and cheeses. We learnt about the Chiante Classical which is a wine that is so stringently assessed that only a few wineries in the Chiante region are aloud to make it... Then there was the Chiante classical R... A wine that is only aloud to be made from the very best seasons... Which means it hasn't been made since 2011. This is concidered the best a dost exclusive wine in all of Italy. Both of these wines can be identified by the black rooster on the neck of the bottle. A red rooster means it's from the region but not so stringently assessed.
A photo of me and Desma overlooking the olive trees and a Tuscan villa.
Hehe... Nelle's favorite place... The heart of the winery. Barrels made of oak!
